My trip to Croatia
August 31, 2018

Well, it all started like this… Landing in Rome was extraordinary! We started by walking these amazingly beautiful old cobblestone streets.

Seeing the Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps and the Coliseum was once-in-a-lifetime experience!

Next stop was Croatia, and it was better than I ever imagined it. As our plane was about to land, we saw gorgeous yellow mountains, green valleys, and dark blue sea! Shortly after getting off the plane, we got in a cab and drove to our apartment in Dubrovnik. The breathtaking view of the old city, surrounded by white-walled houses with bright orange tiled roofs just threw me off. The mountains and the sea were spectacular! The beach that we went to was so beautiful, the water so clear and warm, and the view of the mountains around the beach was phenomenal! The only thing that I didn’t expect was that pebbles and rocks were much harder to walk on than sand, but it was worth it!

The next day, we went to a nearby island called Lakrum. Going there on a ferry was extraordinary by itself. But the island was even better! We started by sitting on the Iron Throne from The Game Of Thrones. After that, we jumped off of the tall rocks into a blue- green Adriatic Sea. We finished up our little trip to Lakrum with delicious ice-cream!
The day after that, walking the ancient walls of Dubrovnik was spectacular! The view seemed like it was from a fairytale. On our last day in Dubrovnik, we took the cable car up to the top of one of the mountains. From there you can see all of Dubrovnik and nearby islands! And then, we went to a museum to explore what was left from the war in Croatia.
The next day, we traveled to a town called Mostar, which was in a neighboring country of Bosnia-Herzegovina. We had to go through the high mountains, it was a bit scary and exciting to drive the narrow winding roads! We only stayed in Mostar for a few hours.

We walked on the famous Old bridge while professionals jumped off of the bridge. And the distance from the highest point of the bridge and the lake was about 100 feet! After that we sat down for a delicious meal of local fish and sausages, with a great view of the bridge.

Later, we drove back to Croatia and stayed in Brela. The 3 days spent in Brela were amazing! Everyday we went to a different rocky beach. Snorkeling and looking at the fish was awesome!

When the fulfilled days in Brela were over, we stopped at the National Park called Plitvice Lakes where we took a nice long hike. The views of the deep blue-green lakes and majestic waterfalls there were priceless!

Our last stop was Zagreb, the capital of Croatia, where we strolled in the old and new city, and had some of the yummiest meat and potatoes! And that was our last day. Coming home was tiresome but soothing. Our trip to Croatia was an unforgettable experience, that I would do again in a heartbeat!
