A Trip to Nirvana - Amanyara Villas and Resorts, Turks and Caicos

    June 15, 2016

    |

    Alex Medvedovski

Looking upon the tranquil turquoise waters, or walking upon the pristine white beaches, you enter a nature lover’s paradise when arriving at Amanyara Villas and Resorts. Sitting on a promontory upon the western shore of Providenciales, in the Turks and Caicos Islands, amidst a vast wilderness of protected parkland, the Amanyara’s open air Pavilions and Villas look out over the reefs of Northwest Point Marine National Park.

The owners of the villas embrace a lifetime of relaxation in unrivaled privacy. Nestled in the coastal vegetation and waters of the reserve, the terraces of the Pavilion are shaded on three sides, accessed via the floor to ceiling glass doors opening to a combination bedroom and living area. Some of the units offer two bedrooms and private pools. The reserve runs 5000 acres, and backs the Amanyara Villas, allowing guests and owners access to the beach club, nature discovery center, restaurants, and the serenity of the Aman Spa.

The islands are home to some of the best beaches in the world, and a secluded haven in the Caribbean, the luxurious Amanyara resort delivers everything a discerning guest could expect. The location is known for some of the world’s best wall and reef diving, and the resort takes it name aman from the Sanskrit derived word for ‘peace’ and yara, the word for ‘place’ in the language of the Arawak Amerindians. The resort offers 40 guest Pavilions, and a number of Villas, each designed with a contemporary layout and open to the breathtaking view of the blue sea, and the sounds of paradise.

Belonging to the portfolio of the Aman, the world’s most luxurious hotel brand, the resort is spectacular. Featured as one of the top 10 resorts in the Caribbean, displaying amazing over water bungalows, tantalizing beaches, and scenery that could only be found on postcards. Positioned in an isolated area, the resort is separated from much of the development of the island, keeping beauty and tranquility untouched. Aesthetically the resort is one with the environment, a perfect harmony. The design of the Amanyara offers buildings with low roof lines, so landscape coverage blends smoothly and embraces the ponds as they meet the oceanfront, presenting the low rocky headlands and sweeping white sandy beaches below. The entrance to the resort is through a grand reception pavilion that opens onto a massive formal reflecting pond that has been landscaped with lush green trees. The water feature here was constructed so that it is framed on one side by the Library and Boutique, and on the other side by the dining room and terrace that open to the picturesque views of the beach. The lounge is circular in design and has a soaring roof as well as sea views, which is fronted by the 50m swimming pool and sun deck. Guests can find space for a cozy intimate retreat or spacious dining and play, whatever the mood, the resort can accommodate. Amanyara reflects the sun, captures the breeze and shares the ocean sounds so that everyone is mesmerized by the absolute beauty.

The Villas are comprised of 3 bedroom pavilions overlooking one of the resort ponds. The bedroom pavilions are centered around a swimming pool that runs 55 ft. X 16 ft. and sit adjacent to two pavilions dedicated for dining and lounging. Each Villa comes staffed with a golf cart for transportation around the resort and housekeepers to take care of your needs. The Beach Pavilions are sitting ocean front and offer guests access to beaches and small coves, sitting 15-20 feet above the waterline. The Pond Pavilions sit more in the natural vegetation, and front either a free form or formal pond, with a sundeck on the waters edge. The resort is about 20 minutes from Providenciales International Airport, and the high season is November through April. Amanyara should be on your bucket list as it can provide maximum luxury and relaxation for any occasion.
