Dubrovnik's Rich Character and History
May 31, 2016
If you are looking for a destination that has character, history and still some contemporary
aspects, look no further than Dubrovnik, and the shore tours that provide you an
experience that will have you wanting more. Dubrovnik was founded over 1300 years
ago by the Romans.
First stop, Stari Grad, a spectacular original old town, preserved down to its exquisite
marble paved squares, cobbled steep streets that reflect the same coloured stone as the
museums, the historic old churches, regal palaces, and some traditional festivals that
celebrate the cities patron saint, Saint Blaise. Tours can visit the top of Srdj Mountain
allowing a panorama of Dubrovnik below, for the jet setters who may be visiting by yacht
you can take a breathtaking tour of the medieval city of Cavtat, and you have no worries
of getting back to your ship on time.

Konavle lies just south of Dubrovnik, close to Cavtat, but is rich with vineyards and
quality wines along with other quality handmade items. The families in the region
produce a variety of products and are waiting on tours for folks to try for yourselves.
Again you can choose your own path, going with a more historical filled agenda, one
filled with food and wine, or for others the more adventurous route. The tour choices also
include a visit to Molunat, down by the sea, where you can enjoy fresh fish, wine and
scenic wonders. If you are looking for that adventure side of the tours, there is horseback
riding, an adrenalin park, hills to explore and beaches of course, miles of beautiful sand
beaches.
Peljesac, a peninsula that is filled with historical significance, Mljet another island that
brings nature to the forefront of your visit, a national park, and colors that are so vibrant
you will believe you are viewing in technicolor. These are only a few of the tour choices,
and just a small sample of places that open the door to the past, the present and the future.
Tours allow guests to choose their own food, pay for their own tickets to the city, and
offer the opportunity to spend time basking in the beauty of every moment. With 4 to 5
hours for some tours there is never enough time to see it all, and even if you opt for the
full day tour, you will long for more. If you have time for a boat ride to the St. James
beach you can see why another trip has to be in your future. Something for everyone at
the pebble beach, from swimming and sunbathing to jet-skis or kayaking, or maybe just a
lovely lunch and cocktail to relax and soak it all in. The shore tours are just the right
touch of magic that allows you to share history and fun, capturing the most for your first
trip to Dubrovnik.
