    Anguilla- decisions, decisions

    November 3, 2015

Cap Juluca vs. Viceroy? We couldn't choose our favorite so we decided to recap both in today's blog post.

    Cap Juluca

Situated on Maundays Bay on Anguilla's southern coast, Cap Juluca is a quiet resort perched on miles of white sand. Each Greco Moorish-style villa features an oceanfront view and private terrace. Though some guests say the rooms feel outdated, they appreciate extra touches like the Bose Wave Music System and Molton Brown bath amenities, as well as the availability of in-room spa treatments. If you're seeking relaxation outside your waterfront digs, extra-large umbrellas dot the calm beach, and attendants deliver chilled towels and sorbet throughout the day. When you need a break from the sand, hit the links at the 18-hole golf course (a short drive from the resort), or sign up for one of Cap Juluca's weekly tennis clinics. Even though Cap Juluca boasts four "garden-to-table" restaurants, some guests recommend exploring Anguilla's other (less expensive) dining options.

    Viceroy

The Viceroy Anguilla melds contemporary architecture into the island's lush landscape. Sitting on the small sliver of northern Anguilla that separates Meads Bay Pond from the ocean, the Viceroy boasts a varied list of recreational amenities (just in case relaxing on the two white-sand beaches is too sedentary for you). Arrange for scuba diving and snorkeling expeditions, practice your short game on the putting green, test your swing on one of three tennis courts, or tackle the multi-level rock climbing wall. When it's time to relax those muscles, head to the 8,000-square-foot oceanfront spa and let the rolling waves provide the soundtrack to your massage — a resort component guests consistently praise — or lounge by the saltwater infinity pool, which overlooks the ocean. To experience even more sea views, reserve a table at one of the five on-site restaurants, but beware that recent guests describe the expensive menu choices as merely adequate. Travelers were more impressed with the rooms, which are outfitted with deep soaking tubs, outdoor sundecks, and in the villas, private pools.
