Oceania Showcases Alaska’s “Last Frontier” with Curated Travel Experiences

Oceania Cruises beckons adventurers to experience Alaska like never before with their immersive tours and excursions that take travelers beyond the usual tourist hotspots and immerse them in the local culture and cuisine. The 656-guest Regatta sets sail from Los Angeles, Seattle, and Vancouver on 14 departures between May 2023 and September 2023, offering over 250 tours and excursions in Ketchikan, Sitka, Juneau, Wrangell, and beyond. Guests can participate in exclusive small-group excursions with the Go Local tour series, where they can dive into the local way of life, learn about generations-old traditions, and connect with nature, people, and cuisine.

As a part of their 20th Anniversary Sale, Oceania is offering free shore excursions, a free beverage package, or free shipboard credit, plus a special bonus gift of up to $800 shipboard credit per suite or stateroom for travelers booking this month.

Frank A. Del Rio, president of Oceania, is excited to offer guests a fresh perspective of Alaska, with intimate access to small ports and remote harbors not offered by other cruise lines. Klawock, a native Tlingit village with an extensive collection of totems, will be a new port of call for Oceania in 2023. Wrangell, a town with a rich history, honors its heritage and offers adventurers the opportunity to learn from an Alaskan guide, fish for traditional catches, and discover the native Tlingit’s influence on the community.

Juneau offers opportunities for glacier-trekking on Mendenhall Glacier or sea-kayaking through the coastal waterways, while foodies can enjoy the “Flavors of Juneau” shore excursion with a visit to the Alaskan Brewing Company and Chez Alaska Cooking School. Skagway offers rock climbing and rappelling down steep granite cliffs or a relaxing ride on the White Pass and Yukon Route Railroad, while Icy Strait Point offers the chance to explore the unspoiled wilderness and witness Tlingit culture and wildlife.

In Ketchikan, guests can join the captain and crew on the Aleutian Ballad from Discovery Network’s “Deadliest Catch” or go on a personalized fishing expedition where their catch is prepared by a personal chef. Sitka offers deep-sea sport fishing for salmon and a visit to the world-famous Alaska Raptor Center.

Oceania’s Regatta boasts four unique, open-seating restaurants, a world-class fitness center and spa, eight lounges and bars, a casino, and 333 lavish suites and staterooms, nearly 70% of which have private verandas. The intimate size of the ship allows for immersive experiences in every port and access to the astounding beauty of Tracy Arm Fjord and Sawyer and Hubbard Glaciers that larger ships cannot provide.
