Lindblad Expeditions Adds Four Early-Season Antarctica Departures

Lindblad Expeditions has added four early-season Antarctica departures for the 2022-23 season aboard its new polar-class vessel, the 126-guest National Geographic Resolution. The voyages are all set for early season October-November voyages, as the austral summer is dawning.

These early expeditions offer guests the Antarctica of their dreams—the most pristine conditions, an ice-filled ocean, bright white landscapes of virgin snow and the opportunity for a once-in-a-lifetime “into the ice” hike, snowshoe or cross-country ski trek in the most thrilling surroundings possible.

Early departure also provides a front row seat to an extraordinary wildlife spectacle—the courtship rituals of penguins. Adélie, chinstrap and gentoo all come ashore to mate and begin building their nests. Guests will witness colonies a flurry of activity—flipper-waving, pebble presenting, stone stealing and some heated showdowns over nesting space.

Following are the new departures. Rates are per person based on double occupancy in a Category 1 cabin, with special offers below.

South Georgia and the Falklands: Explore the wild and intriguing islands few have seen. Steeped in Shackleton and whaling lore, covered mostly in glaciers, South Georgia features king, gentoo and macaroni penguins, enormous elephant seals, and a thriving fur seal population. The Falkland Islands are equally impressive, with colonies of nesting albatross and rockhopper penguins, and stunning topographical features, including white-sand beaches, vaulting cliffs, moors and tussock grass. This 19-day cruise departs Oct. 4, 2022 and is priced at $23,090 per person.

Antarctica, South Georgia and the Falklands: This voyage features the beauty of the Antarctic ice, the vast king penguin colonies of South Georgia and the Falklands' amazing albatross colonies. For most travelers, visiting Antarctica is a once-in-a-lifetime experience, so for those with the luxury of time, including the Falklands and South Georgia just makes sense. This 24-day cruise departs Oct. 19, 2022 and is priced from $26,410 per person.

Journey to Antarctica-The White Continent: People come for the wildlife but fall in love with the ice: an entire museum of colossal and magical ice forms defying description. Guests will get a front seat to the history of the Heroic Age of Exploration. With a flexible itinerary to go where conditions are best and wildlife is most active, they will experience the splendor of Antarctica, venture into channels and coves framed by towering peaks, watch whales play off the bow, glide around enormous icebergs in Zodiacs and walk around penguin colonies. This 14-day cruise departs Nov. 8, 2022 and is priced from $15,380 per person.

Antarctica and Patagonia-Legendary Ice and Epic Fjords: The southernmost realms of the planet are places of unimaginable beauty—Patagonia and Antarctica. Humpback whales breach and penguins gather by the thousands. Icebergs shimmer and sapphire-hued fjords harbor snowcapped peaks and virgin forests. This cruise celebrates the wonders of the Antarctic Peninsula, southern Patagonia and the Chilean fjords—all in a single epic voyage. Guests follow in the wake of legendary explorers to encounter otherworldly icescapes and calving glaciers, remote reserves and pristine parks, and the creatures that thrive at the edge of the world. This 20-day cruise departs Nov. 18, 2022 and is priced from $21,040 per person.

Guests booking any of the newly added departures will receive complimentary round-trip air from Miami to Santiago, Chile, plus charter flights to Ushuaia to embark on the ship. Special offers for the South Georgia and The Falklands departure include 25 percent off solo cabins, and book three full-paying guests and bring a fourth person free (combinable with air offer).
